Hallmark Road Rovers

Road Rovers were made by Hallmark in 1975, 1983, 1984 & 1985. They are about the size of Hot Wheels or Match Box cars, but much heavier. They are made of heavy diecast metal. There were actually a couple of different manufactures and castings for each car. As far as we know these cartoon looking cars are not listed in any current price guides. We have seen some of them such as Rosie Racer sell at auction for almost $200, but keep in mind this was a limited edition and only a few hundred were produced. There was also a game board.

In 1975, Road Rovers were issued with white wall tires and displayed in individual cardboard box merchandisers. For added fun, there was also a card board mechanic's garage available that featured a hand operated elevator.

1983, 1984 and 1985 Road Rovers

Beginning in 1983, Road Rovers were issued with Road Rover written in silver on the tires, rather than white walls.
In 1984, they were displayed in individual cardboard merchandisers with background display scenes.
The 1983 cars were also offered in 1984 and 1985 but without the individual merchandisers. The alpha codes were changed from 275GCJ to 145PF and had stickers on the bottom of the cars with the stock number.
